Balling Method : The balling method is a popular method in which to provide your aquarium with calcium, magnesium, carbonate hardness and trace elements. However, strong lighting, stony coral husbandry and special bacterial systems have changed the water chemistry requirements, which made it necessary for the methods used to be adapted.
ZEOvit : It is a ultra low nutrient system that utilizes bacteria to help eliminate excess nutrients. The concept is to help provide an environment for our corals much closer to natural seawater than is found in a standard tank by reducing problem nutrients like nitrate and phosphate without affecting other parameters like calcium, alkalinity or magnesium.
Most aquarists look at the Korallen-Zucht ZEOvit system like a two step process. The first stage is using the ZEOvit reactor with ZEOlites, ZEObak, ZEOfood and ZEOStart (the basic four) to create a ultra low nutrient environment. The second step is to develop ideal coloration, health and growth using some of their additives based on amino acids, minerals, foods and other additives.

Probiotic Method : Fully synthetic marine salt created for cultured corals. Its formula is designed to create the best conditions for marine animals. The micronutrients and macronutrients contained in the formula fully fulfill the demand of coralsfor proper growth and pigmentation. Probiotic bacteria contained in the salt reduce the content of nitrates and phosphates, and prevents the growth of pathogenic bacteria In the marine aquarium. After dissolving the salt, freshly prepared marine water can be used immediately. When setting up new aquariums it is recommended that the first animals are placed no sooner than 10-14 days after filling the aquarium. The salt contains bromides that are found in natural marine water, so it is not recommended for use inthe ozone supported filtration systems (for such systems we recommend Reef Salt Aquaforest instead). Due to the content of probiotic bacteria the dKH value should be maintainedat 6.5-8.0. Higher values may have a negative effect on the growth of SPS corals.
